 Holistic
Healing
All our therapy services are available at our City Centre bases in
Edinburgh and Glasgow and we are
considering expanding into other cities shortly.
We have two fully qualified therapists on
staff, and a network of trusted colleagues around the UK we refer to.
We are complementary health practitioners,
not alternative health practitioners. This means that we work WITH the
medical profession. If you have an illness or injury, or if you are
going to embark on a new diet, fitness plan or if you have any
uninvestigated symptoms, you must consult your medical doctor.
Holistic Healing
Please note that holistic
healing does not claim to treat or cure any medical condition. Holistic
healing treats the client holistically. This means that the healing
treatments aim to strengthen the client in healing themselves.
Holistic healing is not a substitute for medical attention.
There are a
range of holistic healing methods that can assist the client in
managing their conditions through improved quality of life, or in
strengthening the client holistically and thus hopefully enabling them
to better self-heal.
Reiki
Reiki
involves the channeling of universal healing energy through the
practitioner into the client. It can be used as a stand alone healing
method, or more commonly in conjunction with other healing methods like
visualisation or crystal healing. There are different forms
of
Reiki, including traditional, fusion, eclectic, dolphin and colour.
Reiki can also be sent as healing energy as a distance healing method.
Crystal
Healing
Crystal or
gemstone healing uses the power and energy of crystals in healing. This
method works well together with other healing methods such as colour

Visualisation
Healing
The power of
the mind to self heal is a respected and well known phenomenum. Those
of a clinical disposition believe this is because of the resulting
decrease in stress levels and stress related hormones / chemicals in
the body, thus assisting the immune system. Practitioners who use
visualisation for personal change work tend to refer more to the
ability of positive visualisation to encourage perceptual and
behavioural change. Practitioners with a holistic or spiritual basis
look instead at the overall effect that can have a profound benefit to
well being and personal self healing. Visualisation combines with
virtually any form of healing.
Colour
Healing
Colour
healing and colour therapy have been used in both holistic treatments
and a number of maintream medical environments for centuries. Indeed
evidence has been found of colour therapy and light treatments dating
back to ancient Egyptian and ancient Chinese civilisations.
Colour has been shown to have actual hormonal change effects
in the body, and is used holistically to adjust, balance and heal.
Colour therapy can be used as a single therapy or healing
method, but it combines very well with other methods too, especially
crystal healing and holistic mental health therapies such as life
coaching.
Chakra
Healing
Chakra
healing refers to the use of healing methods on the system of Chakra
points in the body. Different traditions claim that there are different
energy centres or Chakra's in the body. Whatever the tradition, it is
agreed that balancing and supporting the different Chakra points has a
wonderful holistic healing effect on the body. "Blocked", "restricted",
"slow", or "excessively fast" Chakra points and connecting lines of
energy have holistic effects mentally, physically and spiritually. A
variety of holistic methods are used to address these problems, and
there are huge areas of overlap into therapies such as Chi Gung, Yoga,
Crystal Healing, Colour Therapy, Visualisation, Reiki and faith based
methods.
Energy
Healing
This
encompasses a wide range of holistic healing methods. These include
Reiki, colour therapy, laying on hands, crystal, Chakra, Aura and many
more. Essentially it refers to any holistic healing method that "sends"
or "channels" healing energy into the client. Energy healing can be
used while using other complementary therapies and also can be sent as
distance healing.
Herbal
Healing
Various
herbs, oils, flower essences, aromas, biochemical salts and even foods
and teas have a holistic healing effect. Different traditions such as
western traditional, Wiccan, Auyvedic, Chinese etc have different
models and systems associated with them. These systems believe that the
foods, herbs, teas and other substances all have an effect not only on
specific conditions, but also on the balances and systems of the body

Faith
Healing
Specific
faith healing methods are available including multi-faith, Wiccan,
Christian and Kabbalah. More on pastoral and faith issues HERE
All healing
is provided according to the appropriate NOS National Occupational
Standards, mainly the NOS Healing and the NOS Reiki. Both practitioners
have extensive training in healing topics. Not all healing systems have
accredited training awards, but where possible both practitioners have
completed courses or units that have accreditation through NVQ or ASET.
Both practitioners are Reiki attuned in different Reiki forms including
traditional (Stuart: Reiki Master Level, Denise Reiki 2
Level).
Both practitioners are ordained healing ministers in a multi-faith
context. All faiths are respected equally, as is atheism.
Stuart has also written a professional Holistic Healing
Practitioner course
(ASET Level 4 award).
